Today was a day about history. After breakfast we made our way to the bus stop at Santos to take bus 728 to the National Tile Museum. On the walk there, we came across more amazing art. There is so much incredible art across this city!

The entrance and courtyard to the National Tile Museum was welcoming and very pretty with benches under shady trees and colorful flowers surrounding.

The variation and amount of tile art at the National Tile Museum is overwhelming. While we cannot post all the photos we took, the above gives you a sample of the variety.

The ceramic and shapes were impressive too. I especially loved the gecko!

Then there are the goofballs. Who is that Queen & King on the carrige to the right?

Off the Castelo de S. Jorge (Castle) which is the highest point in Lisbon and has panoramic views but first … a stop at the Popbar is in order!

Nothing like sightseeing with your love and good friends.

Peacocks galore at the castle. One particular male fanned his feathers for minutes at a time in great display of showmanship. I have two amazing videos of them that I unfortunately cannot post so reach out if you want to see them.

Castle done! Now, beverages and apps are in order. A quick bite for Jesse before he has to run off to work while us girls kick back. Since my phone died, my battery pack does not apply to USB-C and I was the only one with offline maps, we had to stumble our way home. After taking bus 737 to the metro to a final bus 728, we make it back to our hotels – phew!

Penny and Sue, relaxed (reading and listened to music) while Savitri took a much needed nap! Jesse was still working away …

Ahhh … another great day and a delicious meal amongst friends. It is another late night here (1 AM) so off to bed! Until tomorrow …
