We took a red-eye last night from Boston to Madrid this morning, then took a smaller plane to Palma, Mallorca (which Brits tend to spell Majorca, and sometimes even pronounce with a hard “J”). The Boston area is over 80˚ F but Mallorca is well over 90˚F.. and we saw 100˚F briefly! It’s also very humid, so even though we were wearing t-shirts, shorts, and flip-flops it got sticky quick.

We rented a car from Autos Mallorca, a local company, and so far they have been outstanding. It’s the first car rental company that just did everything we had agreed to and never tried to upsell me. Refreshing! The car is a Fiat 500, a generation or two old based on the connectivity options (USB-A and no CarPlay), but really well cleaned and kept. I always prefer a small car, especially in Europe, SE Asia, and on small islands. Easier to drive on the narrow roads, easier to park.

We drove to Lloseta, the little village we’re staying at in central Mallorca. Soon afterward Liza, Matt, Cole, and Kayla joined us!! We will take group pictures.. I promise.
Here’s a partial tour of our beautiful villa!

We went out for a quick walk and grocery shopping, then went out to dinner around the corner. We ate at Sa Coveta, and had a combination of appetizers and pizza.

That’s it; we were all exhausted after a couple long days with little or no sleep. I literally had a root canal the afternoon before our flight and went through the re-awakening of one quarter of my face at the airport.
