Porto is definitely the most beautiful city I have been to. Sorry NYC & Boston, we love you both but between the hills, views, architecture, art, walkability and size, there is no competition.

Our first act of the day, was to take the train from Faria Guimarães station literally outside our apartment in Lapa to Jardim do Morro station across the Duoro River. The train system was easy to navigate, super clean and fast.

It was a gorgeous day – 72° and sunny but breezy on the hilltops. There were people everywhere and the atmosphere was festive. We spent the day walking around the Gaia checking the street vendors and eventually, we took a river cruise down the Duoro River to view the 6 bridges of Porto.

After the cruise, Jen and Steve opted for Gandola while Jesse and I decided to walk and meet up at Jardim do Morro to check out the viewpoint above the station however, it took us a little longer to get there and Jen and Steve were ready to head back to the airport.

Jesse and I climbed to the viewpoint and then walked across the Luís I Bridge to check out the sights from it, check out the old, historical San Bento train station and eat some gelato before taking the train back to the apartment.

Ah, now to take the train to the apartment to rest before dinner. When we got there however the Universidad do Porto students were doing their Tuesday March. How fun!

Now time for a quick shower and off to dinner. We reserved this really nice restaurant in a garden setting that we eyed on the VietView on Sunday. Originally, we planned to make it our last night dinner but Jesse had badminton so we celebrate our time together a day early.

The restaurant 1858 had outstanding food and the server was really sweet. We enjoyed our dinner outside in the garden at least until the mosquitos were starting to swarms Jesse and I and some new customers started smoking. Luckily the kind waiters moved us indoors for dessert and after dinner drinks.

After dinner we made our way back to the apartment chatting and admiring again the architect against the night sky.
