Today is our last day in Madeira.🥺 This island is absolutely amazing. If you love nature, agriculture, hiking and beautiful vistas at every turn – you must visit this island. We definitely plan to come back for more hiking since the highest and primary peaks were closed due to a recent fire.

A warning this is not an island for those who fear heights and twisty, manic driving. I myself have a fear of heights in certain situations and there is no way I would drive most of this island. Kudos to Jesse for his incredible ability to drive literally anywhere. In our 25 years together, he has driven us up every steep vertical road, zig-zagged mountain tops and narrow European city roads. Even left side driving! If it weren’t for him, I would never have be able experience many of these wonderful places all over the world. 😘

Since we had an afternoon flight, we spent our morning packing and getting ready to check out of our dome. We are really glad to have experienced glamping.

Now off to the airport for our whopping 1h45m flight to São Miguel island in the Azores. They dedicated the Madeira airport to Cristiano Ronaldo who is from Funchal.

Man, what is up with the airline food!?! Jesse braved it but I simply declined. Tempting to start an airline food catering business. These airlines must pay a fortune for crap food! They serve way better food in Business class so I know it is possible for Economy.

Once we checked into our hotel in the heart of Ponta Delgada, I focused on unpacking so we don’t crowd the room while Jesse sets up his work station. Our patio is equal or bigger than our room. I purposely booked a bigger room with terrace as Jesse works this week. It has proven useful since I am out here blogging while Jesse has meetings.

Dinner was a quick app and salad for Jesse since he only had a short window to eat before his next meeting while I savored my wine, homemade ravioli and dessert. Travel days are often a wash but it was still a nice and relaxing day.
