We left Lagos at 6am and drove the ~3.5 hours to Lisbon to drop off Christine at the airport. We miss you Christine!
We then managed to survive some huge, complicated roundabout-like traffic configurations to get to our hotel in Lisbon, Moxy Lisbon City. Unexpected challenge.. getting into the parking garage! The spiral ramp down to the garage was so tight that I had to make many multi-point turns to get down.. sort of auto-claustro-phobic..

We finally met up with Steve!! We ran out for brunch at Bread & Friends nearby. Yummy croissants, fresh juice, happy us! Beautiful purple trees on the way.

We were all wiped from travel and activites so retrned to the hotel. Savitri and I went out and got 90 min massages- AHHHHHHHhhhh. No pictures.. Maybe it didn’t happen? Do we need to redo?
We were a little peckish so we ran out for quick snacks at Banze near the hotel, then back to the hotel to relax and change before dinner and Fado.

Finally took a long hot shower. I know now why Americans love to stay at American hotels in Europe. I like to support the local economy while in Europe, but the bathrooms and beds are not great. The bathrooms usually tubs with a barely useable shower head not to mention, dangerous! The beds are hard and uncomfortable. I am going to have to see a chiropractor when I return to the US. While I have not been homesick yet, I miss my shower and bed!

Off to Porto via Combria tomorrow …
