Today was Jesse and my anniversary. Our original plans fell through so we celebrated in the best of ways … hiking, exploring, hanging out with our friend and yes, eating!

We started the day at home and I cooked us a simple breakfast then Jesse and I exchanged the gifts we bought each other in Portugal

We then took off to Carvoeiro to hike a portion of the Seven Hanging Valleys trail starting from Vale do Centeanes Beach and ending at the Benagil Caves. The hike to the caves was 2.4 miles but we walked 7.2 miles in total. You walk the coastline to get there and there are literally no barriers. The beautiful, coastal views are endless.

Then we finally see an accessible beach so we ignore the danger sign and take the steps down.

Once there, we book the express boat tour and head out to check out the Benagil Caves – so cool. Fun times! One of us specifically likes horsing around – Christine!!!

After lunch, the plan was to hike back to the car another 2.4 miles but a rainstorm hit and we decided to take a Bolt back to the car. No one was complaining. It gave a chance to get home early, rest, publish yesterday’s post, digest and get ready for dinner. Yes, this group loves to eat!

We set our sights on the restaurant within the Lagos Avenida Hotel across the Marina. An easy walk and a beautiful spot. We had to wear and show off our new gifts. Happy 25th Anniversary!
