Yesterday and today were a blur, hence the single post covering both days.

Our Thursday was very casual as we spent the morning doing laundry and packing for Sue and our departure to separate destinations.. We had lunch at Dumpling House which Jesse spotted from day one in Lagos. It’s a very casual place but the Nepalese dumplings were some of the best we have had. After lunch, Jesse stopped at Sweet Home for a slice of homemade carrot cake on his way home to start his workday while Sue and I went off to find gifts for Sue’s friends and family.

After shopping, Sue and I returned to the apartment with a favorite red wine we discovered in Lisbon and had been searching for plus some pork belly. We quickly put together supper for our actual last meal together. It was going to be a restless night with less than 4 hours sleep and a 2 AM wake up for an hour drive to Faro Airport.

After a quick turnaround for the Park & Fly exit and Ryanair’s hassle and continuous attempts to nickel and dime you for every little request, we said our goodbye to Sue and Jesse & I headed towards security. We will miss you Sue! Once finally aboard our plane, the flight went smoothly and we landed in Cardiff Airport. Now to figure out Uber in Wales!
Brrr … it is chilly in Wales! We went from high 60-80° to 30-50° weather.

The ride to Marilyn’s went smoothly and we quickly settled into Marilyn’s warm cottage. After catching up for a few hours, we went the Snails Deli. A cute cafe that Nia works at for a tasty lunch and traditional British Victoria Sponge cake.

Back to the cottage we go and Marilyn made sure we had cozy slippers. Off to work went Jesse. Marilyn and I were pooped so we took a nap.

For dinner, we walked to the neighborhood Pub passing by the funny dog sign. I can’t help but laugh at the steaming poop. 🤣
At the pub, we sat in their bright sunroom, chatting over a delicious meal of either fish & chips or Welsh sirloin burger with chips. Now back to relaxing or in Jesse’s case, working before calling it an “earlyish” night. The lack of sleep is catching up with us. Good night! 💤
